With the introduction of the "Competitive Clearing" model on London Stock Exchange (LSE), LSE members were given a choice of clearing provider for equity trades. Since December 2008, LSE members will be able to choose between SIX x-clear and LCH.Clearnet (LCH), the sole clearing agency to date. With Competitive Clearing for LSE, SIX x-clear has created a truly competitive situation entailing lower prices and enhanced services. SIX x-clear's scope of services corresponds to that of LCH.
"Competitive Clearing" increases clearing and price transparency and is in sync with European market opening initiatives.
